My Mother wrote in her memory book: "How does it feel to be 80? I'm not quite sure. When I recall the many years that have passed and I remember the experiences, it does seem like a long, long time. When I was young I noted the things old people did. They would have to be helped to bed or out of a chair. O dear, those things would never happen to me. I have to accept the fact that with added years, our eyes fail, our ears don't hear so well, our legs wobble and our memory is not so good, and we are glad to have a friends arm on which to lean. However there is still much life left. We can read books, work crossword puzzles, watch TV, listen to the radio, phone our friends and go to church. The stars still shine. Beautiful music comes over the air. Glorious things still happen. We still have our memories, sometimes they bring tears, sometimes smiles. We should welcome each day and be grateful. Thank you God." My Mother lived 18 more years..... I'm not 80 yet, but the eyes are failing, my ears don't hear well, my legs wobble and my memory...??? Well! I forgot!!
