Las Vegas in the Summer!  Yuck!  My weekend was spent in Las Vegas.  Went to help my step grand daughter celebrate her marriage.  It was nice to see family, but too hot!  Lots of VERY good food at two dinners...the rehearsal dinner and reception dinner.  Ate too much the first night so didn't finish everything the second night, but certainly wanted to clean my plate.  Yum!  Had my picture taken with "Elvis".  Will share if I can when I get it from my son. This one was taken during one of our many walks.  Rode the monorail from our hotel.

Drove to Huntington Beach the other day to see my best friends...one lives there and the other one is visiting from Colorado.  Before I left home I saw the rainbow and wondered if I would find my self driving in the rain.  Had only a few sprinkles...just enough to leave rain drop "marks" on my dirty windows!!!!

(I spelled ukulele wrong!)  Wednesday was my birthday!  It was a BIG one!  But it's only a number, I keep telling myself.  My husband took me out to lunch at the Red Lobster.  I love lobster and shrimp.  Today my son-in-law made the best dinner for me..........lobster, scallops, and shrimp!  What a spread!  He is such a good cook!  And my daughter made a yummy raspberry cake with as many raspberries on top as there are years in my life.  (Naturally they covered the cake! Well, almost!)  I am so lucky to have my wonderful family.  One son also helped me celebrate personally and my other son and daughter-in-law from Hawaii were there in spirit!   Of course there were a few tears when I opened my special presents and read some beautiful heart-felt personal words on cards!  I'm so mushy!  God bless my family!  How I love them! Thank you God... for life!

Thought I would share my new adventure.  Yesterday afternoon I took my Mother-in-law's ukelele that I inherited to a new ukelele group that is starting in the area.  Someone took pictures and I was surprised to see them in a web site that has been created.  I didn't stay until the end of the session, when the group picture was taken, so I'm not in it, but you can see me in some of the other snaps.   I'm the one in the pink blouse with the pink lei around my neck.  I'm thinking of taking my guitar next time because guitar players are also welcome and I feel more comfortable with my guitar than I do the ukelele, although I really need to learn something new and the ukelele would be just that.  (Next time I'll smile at the camera and say, "Cheese!")  The web address is:
